Kim is the Senior Oasis Family Support Practitioner and is responsible for leading the Children and Young People team and providing information, advice and guidance to families in Lincolnshire who are or have been affected by a family member or close relative’s substance use.
Kim is trained in counselling concepts, drug awareness studies and their applications, advice and guidance, safeguarding, and protective behaviours. Kim was very excited to join Lincolnshire Action Trust in 2015 as she believes in and was inspired by the work of the organisation.
Working for the charity has given her the opportunity to build on her skills and experience in a rewarding environment. She says she is most inspired by the resilience of the families she supports.
Kim has also recently had the opportunity to undertake M-PACT training which allows her to support with bringing families back together.
Karen has worked in Early Years Education for many year specialising in SEN. Through Karen’s work in Early Years Education gradually she moved into a Family Support Role, working with Families whose children have life limiting conditions, as well as additional needs. This Role led to Karen growing a passion for working with Families, Adults and Young People.
Since Karen has been working on the Oasis Family Support Service she has been lucky enough to develop her knowledge and understanding of addiction and how this impacts the Families she works alongside with.
Karen has also recently had the opportunity to undertake M-PACT training which allows her to support with bringing families back together.
Georgia is one of the Oasis Family Support practitioners working from the East Coast of Lincolnshire.
She has previously supported children in a SEN role and transferred over to the Oasis Family Support Service to support and empower Adults, Families and Children who are facing difficulties with a loved one misusing substances. Georgia has training in areas such as dual diagnosis, parental substance misuse, FASD, trauma-informed practice and mental health first aid.
Georgia is passionate about empowering people and supporting people to move towards a more positive future. Georgia is most inspired by the tenacity, determination and strength of the people she supports.
Georgia has also recently had the opportunity to undertake M-PACT training which allows her to support with bringing families back together.
Halle is a Oasis Family Support Practitioner offering support and guidance to families who are being or have been affected by a family member using drugs or alcohol.
Halle has a BSc in psychology, and Is currently working towards her MA. Throughout this time, she have done a lot of work surrounding the psychological underpinnings and explanations of addiction. Halle has also been part of research projects looking into Adverse Childhood Experiences and how or if these link to development of addictions. Halle joined LAT with hopes that she could use this research and understanding to help those in need and make a positive difference in people’s lives.
Halle strongly believes in the work we do at the Oasis Family Support Service as the effects of substance use are not limited to the individuals. Oasis provides a safe space for people to develop coping skills, access emotional support, understand more about addiction and have a listening-ear with practitioners going above and beyond for their clients which inspired Halle to join the organisation.
Halle has also recently had the opportunity to undertake M-PACT training which allows her to support with bringing families back together.
Donna is one of the Oasis Family Support Practitioners working across East Lindsey and Boston.
She is a qualified teacher who has worked across, primary, secondary and adult education. Donna specialises in SEMH and behaviour with complex needs. She also has experience in adult mental health and in supporting whole families with positive change.
Donna is passionate in supporting Young people,Adults and Families to be resilient and develop strong self confidence and self esteem. What inspires her is seeing how anyone can grow, flourish and push through their own barriers to fulfill what they want in their lives even when this is extremely difficult.
Amy is part of the Oasis Family Support Team supporting Young People, Adults and Families affected by someone in their lives drug or alcohol use. Amy has worked with the team for 2 years now and has supported many young people during this time to build their self-esteem and confidence whilst also finding coping skills to manage their worries that they can take with them long after the end of support.
Before working for Oasis Family Support Amy studied for her BA (Hons) in Children, Young People, and Families and has worked in many different environments supporting young people. Amy is trained in Protective Behaviours and has recently become a Mental Health First Aider.
Amy is passionate about supporting Young People and Families to find their self-confidence and their voice, whilst also being an advocate to ensure that they get the best support possible. Giving each child and Family that Amy works with her time and dedication, so they receive the best support possible, whilst giving them a safe space to talk about their worries. The Young People’s determination and strength is what inspires Amy to do the work she does.
